Sightseeing, activities, etc..
Located in northern Puget Sound, about 50 minutes north of Seattle,
Whidbey Island is the essence of the Pacific Northwest. Seclude
yourself in panoramic mountain and water views, explore miles of public
beaches and parks, and visit some of the northwest's most breathtaking
scenery, where small villages touch the sea and the pace of Island life
is gentle. Our island climateis influenced by the Olympic rain shadow and as a result, experiences about half the rainfall of Seattle. Our climate is maritime in nature. Summer is cool and breezy, Winter is warmer than the mainland and less rainy. Typically, we have four months of fantastic summer weather and by the end of September the rainy weather returns. Whidbey is rural in character, much of the island remains blanketed by forests and windswept beaches. Friendly people, unique shopping, antiques, art galleries, first class Bed & Breakfast Inns and fine specialty restaurants characterize the towns and villages. Island residents and tourists alike marvel at the fantastic views of the snow-covered Cascade and Olympic Mountains. Known for a low stress lifestyle, Whidbey is a unique area, well known for its exceptional quality of life, strong sense of community and connection to the land. You will experience this feeling immediately as your cares seem to slip away during the Ferry crossing from Mulilteo to Clinton. Come see for yourself!
